We can whip it even in conditions where we probably wouldn’t be able to imagine it – without a whisk, without electricity, without a robot… All you need is an ordinary mason jar.

Whipped cream is a frequent part of many sweet treats after a delicious lunch, but also a treat at celebrations and other festive occasions. But what if you decide to invite your guests to a cottage, for example, where the possibilities for preparing more festive dishes are very limited?

You don’t have to despair, even for these occasions there is a really easy solution. In a few minutes, the whipped cream will be as delicious as in a good restaurant.

It just needs a canner

So what will we need? Really nothing more than a cup of whipping cream, a screw-top mason jar and a teaspoon of powdered sugar. We don’t have to worry about anything else. Obviously, the procedure will be as simple as it seems now.

We simply pour the cream – preferably 40%, which we can also get in stores (but the usual 33% will also do) – in a mason jar, add a teaspoon of powdered sugar, close it well and then everything is in our hands. And literally.

Just a few minutes

Within a few minutes, when we try out the work of a bartender with a shaker, we whip a glass of whipped cream to the ideal consistency with quick movements. The advantage of this system is that it is possible to continuously check the condition and stiffness of the golden nail of the entire feast.

You will definitely succeed and the guests will not be surprised how you managed something similar even in very modest conditions. After all, the same method can be successfully used anywhere, at home it saves time-consuming washing of the mixing bowl, robot whisks and other equipment for a change. Simply rinse the glass and it will be cleaned. Isn’t that an excellent idea?

Cold is important

However, if you decide to use a more traditional method of preparing whipped cream, it is good to remember a few basic tips that will help you achieve the best consistency of the final product.

One of the most important principles is to use both a cold bowl and a whisk to prepare whipped cream. Its quality and stiffness are mainly influenced by fat, which is able to bind air bubbles and thus make the decoration of our desserts irresistible and, above all, well-prepared.

Put the bowl in the freezer

So if it’s at all possible, put the bowl and the whisks in the fridge or freezer for a while before whipping. For this reason, it is ideal to use a metal or at least a glass bowl.

The plastic container does not hold that much cold and heats up very quickly. In the same way, the cream itself should remain in the cold until the last moment.

When is the whipped cream ready?

If you want to achieve true perfection in the preparation of whipped cream, you must learn to estimate the right moment when it is ready “just right”. In order for it to be really stiff and stay in the desired shape even after decorating the cake, it will take several minutes to whip it.

It’s easy to make sure it’s done. When you take the whisks out of the bowl and turn them over, the whipped cream that has stuck to them will hold without any problems and will not fall or change shape. However, as in other cases, here too everything must have its own measure.

If we misjudged the right moment and overwhipped the cream, the consistency and taste would be more like butter, and we certainly don’t want that. So let’s get down to it and we can only wish you good appetite and guests the pleasure of an excellent and surprising treat.
