Instead of dough, just a bun

Are you hungry and need to prepare dinner quickly? Get started on student langos, which you will have ready in 5 minutes! You don’t have to be afraid of any kind of work with the dough, as older buns will replace it perfectly. Just cut them lengthwise and dip both halves in a beaten egg with a pinch of salt.

Quick frying of langoustines

Once you have the buns ready, pour enough oil into a deep pan so that the langoustines do not touch the bottom and heat it up. You can tell when the oil is ideally heated by the fact that it starts to hiss after dropping a piece of bun into the pan. At that moment, carefully insert the whole buns and fry until golden on both sides. Be careful not to burn the langoustines, as the frying itself takes about 2 minutes.

With excess fat gone

Quick frying is not only about saving time, but mainly about the minimal absorption of fat into the langoustines. If you were to fry the buns at a lower temperature, you would have to leave them in the oil for longer, which would make them more soaked. After removing from the pan, it is important to also put the langoustines on napkins so that the oil from the surface soaks into them. Only then will you have perfectly crispy langoustines without fat dripping from them.

Garlic is a must on langoustines

Fried student langoustines can be served in different ways. However, the combination of ketchup, garlic and grated cheese ranks among the most popular. You can either bake the buns like toast, or mix pressed garlic with a little water in a cup. Using a rolling pin, rub the langoustines with the garlic mixture, spread the ketchup and finally sprinkle everything with cheese.

Different flavors of Hungarian pizza

You may have heard that langoustines are called Hungarian pizza. It is precisely for this reason that you can put everything possible on them according to your taste. In addition to a salty dish, they can also be made into a sweet dish with the help of marmalade.

However, the finished langoustines are best served immediately, while they are nicely warm and crispy, so that everyone can enjoy them in their best form.
