The common domestic cat, which can be seen in country gardens as well as in many urban households, is a lovely, if very idiosyncratic, companion. Her breeder must expect in advance that she will be the one to dominate the entire space, but this does not mean that she will necessarily be grateful to her provider for anything.
She is not a dog to show her love all the time, she is a personality with everything. And moreover, she knows very well how much superiority she has – both over the breeder and perhaps even over his dog, which is much bigger than herself. All this is hidden in a relatively small body, which usually weighs around three to four kilograms.

Savannah Giant
What then has to happen at home when you get one of the biggest breeds? Nothing special really. Even these cats tend to have similar characteristics and habits as the small ones. It’s just that their little secret love is even more tender.
For example, in the case of the Savannah cat, whose cats normally reach a weight of around 10 kg, but thirteen-kilogram animals are also recorded. So it is about three to four normally large cats in a single impressive body, decorated with a wild drawing.
Nothing for beginners
They are beautiful, sweet and intelligent, but keeping them is definitely not for beginners. Even more than other breeds, these mice rely on their own decision-making. She is even able to learn to retrieve like a dog, but only if she herself decides to do so.
In some countries, the breeding of animals of this breed is even prohibited on the grounds that it is a dangerous matter. This is of course an opinion, but breeders who have Savannah cats at home do not allow them to do so.
And this despite the fact that it is a very expensive “hobby”. Just buying a kitten will cost at least thirty thousand crowns, not to mention its breeding, nutrition, vet… But whoever decides on this giant once, usually falls for it for the rest of their lives.
Maine coon
A much better known and also more widespread huge cat breed is the Maine coon. Most people are already aware of them and their popularity is still increasing. A male cat can reach up to twelve kilograms in adulthood, a female up to seven.
If you get such a pet, you need to count on the fact that you will have an inquisitive friend at home who will be happy in your company. His talkativeness is renowned, so you won’t feel alone.
But a Maine coon cat must not feel alone either, because at such a moment it can start to entertain itself, and usually not in a way that its owner and furniture would appreciate. On the other hand, it is an extremely kind-hearted breed with great love for its family. Many compare her nature to that of a dog, but who knows how proud cats would react to such a comparison.
Turkish bath
A little smaller, but still unusually large and heavy, is the rare Turkish bath, whose cats can easily exceed seven kilograms. The kittens are, like all other breeds, a bit smaller, but definitely don’t expect the petite figure of a domestic cat.
Like the Savannah cat, this breed is also very docile and self-confident. She won’t be swayed by something just like that, and even the fact that the breeder is angry with her won’t put her off. It’s not her problem, the master is getting on his nerves. But the truth is that it is a very active breed that needs to be occupied.
It is therefore not suitable for a family whose members leave the apartment in the morning and gather after dark. Such an apartment could soon become just and only a cat’s playground, which the active pet would adjust in his own way. But it is a beautiful animal, basically in white. However, it is still not easy to find a purebred van in our country.
Norwegian forest cat
Also, the Norwegian forest cat can weigh close to ten kilograms, and its size is felt to be multiplied by its thick and very long fur. It is an animal with a strong constitution, adapted – as can already be seen from its name – to the harsh Nordic nature.
They have to survive and that is the basis of everything. In the home, however, it is a playful breed that will delight even empathetic children, who will treat such a cat with due understanding. Due to the length of the hairs, you need to count on regular combing and accept the fact that you will probably bear the cat’s signature in the form of several hairs on each piece of clothing.
Lovers of long-haired cats, however, usually do not mind this little thing. In order for them to live as long as possible, it is necessary to count on high-quality feed (which, after all, they have in common with other breeds as well). A very similar breed is the Siberian cat, which even has common ancestors with the Norwegian forest cat, which connects them with the Maine coon.
Ragdoll
Do you want a really big cat that likes to be cuddled and can easily withstand a somewhat livelier family? Then a ragdoll will be the ideal choice. Stoic calmness is her main characteristic. He doesn’t let children or even other animals “decline” him, he doesn’t see a problem in reasonably long solitude, but he can deal with a child’s desire to play.
Her intelligence allows her to even fetch and go for walks on a leash. Can we ask for more? In addition, it is a beautiful breed that attracts attention at first glance with its peaceful fluffy grandeur and aristocratic behavior.
She will be best in a couple, but she can also be the sole ruler of the entire household. It is a long-haired breed that requires regular brushing, but this is usually not a problem. In addition, if you need advice and help with anything – and especially if you don’t need it – the talkative and curious ragdoll will always be nearby.
