Bread is a food that should be consumed in moderation because it is actually a processed and refined product, explains the expert. At the same time, Dr. Richards singles out white bread as the worst version because it contains refined carbohydrates. The nutritionist adds that it lacks fiber and other useful nutrients.

Refined carbohydrates are highly inflammatory and quickly turn into sugar, causing glucose levels to rise quickly, Dr. Richards explains.
