Referring to the results of a study, the expert adds that two promising ingredients have been identified that protect against this disease – the catechins of green tea and resveratrol. They feature strong anti-plaque and functional neuroprotective properties combined with minimal neurotoxicity.

Catechins are a form of flavonoids, natural anti-inflammatory agents. They are found in green tea and are associated with cardioprotective properties.

The results of the study show that the catechins in green tea have a beneficial effect against the formation of plaque – Alzheimer’s disease occurs when these plaques accumulate in the brain, explains the expert.
