Modern people, who show a strong interest in healthy eating, know very well that the consumption of salty and fried foods damages blood vessels and the heart.
But in this case there are exceptions to the rule. It is related to the consumption of one nut, which, even when roasted with salt, is good for the heart.
The nut that is good for the heart even roasted with salt
This nut is a favorite of beer fans, and the latest revelations about its properties are sure to please them. Experts from the American Heart Association (ANA) found that roasted peanuts in butter are not harmful, on the contrary, they are very useful for the heart.
Eat this nut twice a day to lower cholesterol
Until now, salted peanuts were thought to have too much sodium. But they actually contain less sodium than a slice of bread. For example, 30 grams of salted nuts contain no more than 119 mg of sodium, which is significantly lower than the ANA certification level (140 mg).
Many people believe that peanut butter, which is made from fried nuts, is very high in calories. But here again, the study showed the opposite: the roasting process did not increase the total fat content of the peanuts at all.
ANA scientists were able to prove that peanuts reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in people with high blood cholesterol levels. In addition, this nut is rich in substances that are very useful for human health – peanuts contain cholesterol-free protein (8 grams of protein per 30 grams of nuts), vitamin E, as well as niacin, potassium and folic acid.
