Professional Baseball Player. Robert Gray Allen was a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Cleveland Indians for part or all of five seasons. He signed as a free agent with the team in 1956 and made his major league debut on April 14, 1961, at the age of 23. Despite not starting a major league game, he appeared as a reliever in 204 games, recording 19 saves, with a lifetime record of 7–12, a 4.11 ERA, 132 walks, and 199 strikeouts.
