Today, Thursday, April 18, 2024, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, discussed with the heads of higher education institutions in the Gaza Strip, during a remote meeting, the mechanisms for implementing the ministry’s plan to resume the educational and academic process for students in the Gaza Strip, which includes opening the way for students in the Gaza Strip to enroll in higher education institutions in West Bank as visiting students.

This came in the presence of the Undersecretary of Higher Education, Basri Saleh, the Chairman of the National Commission for Accreditation, Quality and Quality of Higher Education Institutions, Muammar Shteiwi, and a number of advisors, general directors, and heads of units in the Ministry.

Minister Barham stressed that resuming the educational process for students in the Gaza Strip is a top priority, and that follow-up is being conducted with the competent authorities in the ministry and relevant national and international institutions to ensure that students resume their education, despite the great extent of the destruction inflicted by the occupation on all institutions, as well as the huge loss at the level of education. Students and staff.

He pointed out that this comes within the framework of specific understandings reached with all institutions and universities, and within the framework of the Ministry’s plan to resume education for higher education students in the Gaza Strip.

Barham stressed the continuation and escalation of the Ministry’s efforts during the coming period to ensure the success of the plan’s implementation, pointing out his keenness on continuous coordination between the Ministry and all Palestinian higher education institutions.

For his part, Undersecretary Saleh spoke about the ministry’s plan with its six axes, pointing out the multiple paths of this plan to save higher education in Gaza and ensure the reconstruction of educational institutions, based on the data received about the extent of the destruction inflicted on these institutions as a result of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
