Last week Hill and Timonte Harris were shot on Chestnut Street. Harris was pronounced dead on the scene, but hill died Saturday after being taken to UK Medical Center. Lexington police have arrested Corry Jackson, charging him with the deaths

Four days later this park filled with prayers and emotion as balloons lifted toward the clouds.

“No one should have to feel that know no mother should have to see their child in the hospital like that, that’s what I mean, no one. We have got to really reach them somehow that this is senseless. Now, nothing is worth you doing someone like that,” Williams said.

William who Lakeisha lovingly called her “auntie cousin,” said she loved bringing people together.

“She always stood up for what she believed, and she believed in strong community, family. She loved her boys, you know, what I’m saying, she always smiled. Every time you see that, there’s a wave hey, I love you, you know. Keisha was love, you know, she was family,” Williams said.

Now what’s left is a community to carry on the memory of Hill.

“Long live Keisha, long live Keisha,” Williams said.

Williams said Lakeisha made friends with everybody and she was so humbled by all the people who came out today to remember her.
