With this action, the entity, Ibáñez added, wants to raise awareness in society about the “high number of individuals necessary to make a single item of clothing”, which affects species such as minks, rabbits, ferrets, cows, “and in China even dogs and cats.”

According to the spokesperson, these animals “spend their lives locked up in small farms, to finally be gassed or electrocuted orally or anal” before being taken to the slaughterhouse, where, Ibáñez assures, many “are still alive and therefore become aware that their skin is being torn off.”

Animal rights organizations demand that the European Commission order the closure of fur farms, a decision that must be adopted on December 6, because “the lives of more than 32 million animals that are slaughtered per year in Europe” for the fur industry.

To raise this claim, they have already collected 1.5 million signatures throughout Europe and demand that the Commission “take them into account”.
