Last year, there were 2,554,524 registered road vehicles in Croatia, which is four percent more than in 2022, according to the data of the State Institute of Statistics. There were 1,910,131 registered passenger vehicles on Croatian roads last year, which is 3.8 percent more than in 2022. The number of road vehicles registered for the first time was 190,063, with a growth of 28.6 percent compared to 2022.

The increase in the number of first registrations was achieved for motorcycles by 12,003 units or 42.3 percent. In total, there were 101,515 motorcycles on Croatian roads on the last day of last year.

19,455 trucks were registered for the first time, which is 36.6 percent more than in 2022, and there are a total of 221,006 trucks on Croatian roads. There was also a significant increase in registered road tractors for the first time, by 2,561 vehicles or 29.3 percent more compared to the previous year, to a total of 16,504.

The number of first-time registered passenger vehicles increased by 29.2 percent, i.e. by 137,557. Agricultural tractors registered for the first time were 10.5 percent more (7,483), i.e. 148,080 such machines were registered in Croatia last year.

At the same time, the number of first bus registrations fell by 2.5 percent, totaling 5,799. In 2023, there were 10,633 road traffic accidents with casualties, which is 6.3 percent more than in 2022. 274 people died, a drop of negligible 0.4 percent, while 14,204 injured people were also recorded. , a growth of 6.6 percent compared to 2022.
