"I couldn't hold back the tears!" Why Blue Flame restaurant in Jefferson Hills, Pa has been closed down? Business news

Generations of patrons of the Blue Flame restaurant are collectively mourning its closure, marking the end of an era since its inception in 1956.

“I couldn’t hold back the tears,” shares June, an elderly regular, reflecting the sentiment felt by many.

Nestled along Route 51 in Jefferson Hills, Blue Flame has been a cherished spot for breakfast and lunch, but its final service concluded on March 24.

The restaurant, once owned by their father and uncle, is now in the hands of brothers Greg and Albert George, who sadly acknowledge being the last in their family line to continue its legacy.

“With no successors in sight among our younger relatives, my brother and I made the tough decision to sell,” explains Greg George. “It’s time for a new chapter.”

The family has decided to pass the torch to a restaurateur in West Elizabeth, who plans to reimagine the space with a fresh concept and a new identity.
