WİM WENDERS AND KOJİ YAKUSHO WILL BE GUESTS AT THE FESTIVAL
Wim Wenders, one of the master directors of world cinema, will come to Istanbul as the guest of honor of the festival. Wenders will give a talk within the scope of the festival and his films “Anselm”, “Alice in the Cities” and “Perfect Days” will be presented to the audience.
At the festival, where the famous Japanese actor Koji Yakusho will also participate, invited actors and directors will answer the audience’s questions after the film screenings.
In this year’s selection of the “Spectrum” section, you can watch the new films of Lisandro Alonso and Hong Sang-soo, as well as the restored cult film of Carlos Reygadas, “War in Heaven”.
12 feature films and 1 short feature film will be shown in the Hungarian Rhapsodies section, designed on the occasion of the 2024 Turkish-Hungarian Culture Year.
At the N Kolay Galas, the first screenings of the 9 anticipated films of the season will be held in Turkey.
The restored copy of the 1987 film titled “My Dreams, My Love and You”, restored by Atlas Post Production, can be watched at Atlas 1948 Cinema on April 19 with the participation of the film crew.
AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN IN 10 BRANCHES IN THE NATIONAL COMPETITION
The International Competition jury, chaired by New Zealand actress Kerry Fox, includes director Maryna Er Gorbach, editor Gladys Joujou, artistic director of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival Orestis Andreadakis and film critic Guy Lodge.
The National Competition jury, chaired by director, screenwriter and producer Aslı Özge, consists of actress Merve Dizdar, cinematographer Barış Aygen, artist Halil Altındere and musician Ekin Fil.
“Golden Tulip Best Film”, “Special Jury Award”, “Best Director”, “Best Actress”, “Best Actor”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Cinematography” in the National Competition , “Best Editing”, “Best Art Direction” and “Best Original Music” awards will be given.
Festival films can be watched at Atlas 1948 and Beyoğlu Cinema in Beyoğlu, CineWAM Premium+ City’s Nişantaşı in Şişli, Kadıköy Cinema and Kadıköy Municipality Cinematheque/Cinema House in Kadıköy.
