Is Prince Harry A US Citizen? - Culture and trends

No. At least not yet. Although Prince Harry has officially changed his country of residence.

As mentioned by People, from the United Kingdom to the United States as revealed in recently unveiled paperwork. This alteration followed his relocation to California with Meghan Markle in 2020, stepping away from their royal duties. The Duke of Sussex, aged 39, updated documents related to Travalyst, his environmental tourism initiative, at the U.K.’s Companies House, marking the switch in residence. Although the paperwork lists the “date of change” as June 6, 2023, it was only publicly disclosed recently.

What Triggered Prince Harry’s Change of Residence?

After residing temporarily in Vancouver Island and Tyler Perry’s Los Angeles estate post-royal transition, Meghan and Prince Harry purchased a home in Montecito, Santa Barbara, in the summer of 2020. Their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born there in June 2021. Despite this move, Frogmore Cottage remained a base for their U.K. visits, including during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee events in June 2022 and Lili’s first birthday celebration.

How Did Prince Harry Reflect on Frogmore Cottage?

Prince Harry revisited Frogmore Cottage in London for legal proceedings against Mirror Group Newspapers and testified regarding alleged information gathering. The Netflix series “Harry & Meghan” featured moments of the couple packing up the cottage after their final royal engagements.

During an interview on Good Morning America, Prince Harry expressed his enjoyment of life in the U.S. When asked if he felt American, he humorously responded, “Do I feel American? Um, no. I don’t know how I feel.” (here) He mentioned considering U.S. citizenship but noted it wasn’t a top priority, focusing instead on his work with the Invictus Games.
