Man sets himself on fire in New York – critically injured
A man in his 30s set himself on fire outside the courthouse where the bribery case against Donald Trump is ongoing, reports CNN.
In a press conference, the police say that he is critically injured. Three police officers and a court officer suffered minor injuries in connection with the extinguishing.
The man is said to have thrown pamphlets into the air after setting himself on fire.
– The pamphlets seem like they are propaganda. Almost like a conspiracy theory-type pamphlet, the police say during the press conference.
Witnesses say the man arrived in New York earlier this week.
The incident took place in a park where protesters have gathered this week.
According to CNN’s reporters at the scene, a man was on fire for over three minutes. The fire was then extinguished, and the person was taken away on a stretcher.
