Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obaida called for escalation on all fronts on Tuesday in a televised address to mark the 200th anniversary of the start of the Israeli-Palestinian war in the Gaza Strip on October 7. Reuters reports.

In a video posted Al Jazeera TVAbu Obaida praised Iran’s April 13 attack on Israel, saying direct attacks with explosive drones and missiles “set new rules, brought out important equations and confused the enemy and those behind him.”

He also called for an escalation of the situation in the West Bank and Jordan, calling it “one of the most important Arab fronts.”

Jordan, located between Iran and Israel, intercepted and shot down dozens of Iranian drones that entered its airspace heading for Israel, two regional security sources said April 13.

“We call on the Jordanian people to step up and raise their voice,” Abu Obaida said.

He said Hamas is sticking to its demands in the ongoing ceasefire talks – that Israel ends its military offensive, withdraws troops from Gaza, allows displaced people to return to northern Gaza and lifts the blockade.

“The occupation government is delaying the agreement on the exchange of hostages and is trying to hinder the efforts of the mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement,” Abu Obaida said.

Qatar and Egypt have tried to mediate a ceasefire, but a Qatari foreign ministry spokesman said earlier on Tuesday that all parties involved must “show seriousness” and allow such efforts to succeed.
