According to People’s Deputy Alexey Kucherenko, today the budget does not have enough funds. Until recently, money came from business, but now companies cannot cope with the load.
Ukrainian citizens will have to pay for electricity at cost as the government needs funds to restore the power grid damaged by Russian shelling. This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy Issues, Alexey Kucherenko, on the air of the Kiev24 TV channel. The video was published on Kucherenko’s YouTube channel.

According to him, calculations showed that the cost of electricity is 3.5 hryvnia, whereas now they pay for it 2.64.
“I’m afraid that now the government will bring it to this cost. I understand this logic. Once again, I want to say that I don’t like it, but I think 99% of people do the same,” Kucherenko said.

He added that he still understands the situation in which power engineers, Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo find themselves, whose facilities are being destroyed.
Today, the budget does not have enough funds to cover the difference between the cost of electricity and the tariff for citizens, Kucherenko clarified.
According to him, until recently, funds came from business, but now companies cannot cope with such a load.
Let us recall that the people’s deputy previously stated that the Ministry of Energy, together with the national regulator NEURKU, could revise the electricity tariff in order to restore the energy system after the shelling.
It was also reported about utility prices in Ukraine: which services have become more expensive the most.
