It is good to divide the law and thereby speed up the process of changing legal gender. But a real multi-professional investigation must be done at a specialized reception appointed by society, both for the sake of the individual and society.
With the current proposal, there are good reasons to believe that it may be reasonably easy to find a doctor or psychologist out of town who carries out a light-hearted “assessment†against payment. However, an investigation should not take as long as now, but perhaps a maximum of one year.
Minimum age should be at least 18 years. It is a big decision and you need to be a little more mature to take it.
The law needs contain a clear right for gyms, women’s emergency rooms, etc. not to have to admit untreated trans women, that is, trans women with male genitalia and/or male sex hormone levels in contexts separate from women . Organizations and companies like the ones above should not have to worry about being accused of discrimination if they deny the aforementioned trans women access to such spaces. Women must be able to feel safe in such places.
Finally, I hope that all members of the Riksdag vote according to their conscience and reason.
