The Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands discuss the situation in Gaza Рolitics

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The agency said: “The Emir of the country received a phone call today (Thursday) from Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, during which the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop and strengthen them were reviewed.”

The two sides also discussed “a number of developments of common interest regionally and internationally, especially related to developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories,” according to the same source.

The call comes as preparations are being made for a possible Israeli invasion of the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip, despite increasing international warnings of its catastrophic repercussions, in light of the presence of about 1.4 million displaced people there.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a war on Gaza that has left nearly 112,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and famine and massive destruction, according to Palestinian and UN data.
