This evening, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced the implementation of the largest airdrop of aid into the northern Gaza Strip, with a total of 90 tons.

The Ministry said in a statement published on the “X” platform that it carried out, as part of Operation Birds of Good, the 16th air drop of humanitarian and relief aid into the northern Gaza Strip by joint crews from the UAE and Egyptian air forces.

The statement added, “This air drop is the largest, and was carried out by three planes carrying 90 tons of food and relief aid.”

He explained that “the shooting operation took place over the isolated and inaccessible areas in the northern Gaza Strip.”

This brought the total aid dropped since the launch of the operation known as “Birds of Charity” to 664 tons of food and relief aid, according to the statement.

“Birds of Goodness” comes within the framework of “Operation Gallant Knight/3,” which was launched on November 5, 2023, based on the directives of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

On February 29, Operation “Birds of Charity” was launched and will continue for several weeks “in an effort to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian brothers as a result of the war,” according to a previous statement by the UAE Ministry of Defense.
