Budanov predicted a difficult May - Musienko told what could happen - UNIAN War in Ukraine news

The expert announced an “unpleasant surprise” for the occupiers.

The head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, military and political expert Alexander Musienko, during the telethon, commented on the words of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov about the difficult situation for Ukraine in May.

“Now the enemy is really intensifying his offensive from the Belgorod region to the Kharkov region and in the east. And we will need to go through this period while the United States supplies us with weapons. They are really stepping up a little earlier, because they understand that Ukraine will receive support. Therefore, the situation at the front will be difficult But in the end, I think, because of the help of the United States and Western partners, the enemy will be caught in a trap and there will be a very unpleasant surprise,” the expert noted.

The situation at the front remains extremely difficult

The day before, the head of the General Directorate of Intelligence, Kirill Budanov, in an interview with the BBC, said that from mid-May Ukraine would face a rather difficult situation, including at the front.

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War, Ukraine may indeed suffer additional setbacks in the coming weeks as it awaits U.S. security assistance that will allow Ukraine to stabilize its front.

But Bloomberg believes that US assistance will give Ukraine a break, but will not turn the tide of the war. After all, the long-term blocking of this assistance greatly depleted Kyiv’s strength.
