The collectible itself looks like a bargain for the money, and what’s more, the game still doesn’t have a release date.
Work is slowly continuing on a remake of the cult game Gothic, which was released more than 20 years ago. Recently, the developers introduced a collector’s edition, which did not please a significant part of the community.
In the box, in addition to the game itself, the most devoted fans will find a wall-mounted Mask of the Sleeper (the main antagonist of the game), a soundtrack, as well as a leather bracelet and a notebook – all for 200 euros.
Members of the Gothic community on Steam believe that for such a price tag it would be worth offering a full-fledged figurine and a map of the colony, since such items look much more interesting on the shelf. In addition, some people would like to receive an art book.
Gamers were also dissatisfied with the fact that the game still does not have a release date, although more than 5 years have passed since the release of the demo version, but the publisher is already selling the collectible.
Along with the collectible, the authors of Gothic 1 Remake showed a pack of screenshots that give an idea of what Alkimia Interactive is trying to achieve. The footage features local locations and characters, including everyone’s favorite Diego.
Gothic remake – basic details
- The newly formed Alkimia Interactive team is responsible for creating the game. In 2019, the studio released a trial version, and based on it, it collected feedback from the community regarding the vision for the remake. This playable teaser will appear in your library when you purchase any of the Gothic titles.
- According to the developers, the plot in the Gothic remake will remain the same, but the gameplay, in particular, the combat system will be modernized. They want to modernize it taking into account current trends.
- Overall, the remake should be faithful to the original, which will satisfy old fans
- The remake is being created for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Initially, the remake was supposed to be released in March 2023, but now the authors are targeting 2025.
