Russia sends reinforcements to capture Chasovoy Yar, War in Ukraine news

The invaders aim to capture the city before May 9.

The Russian occupiers are gathering forces to try to enter Chasov Yar from the south in order to capture the city before May 9. Military observer Denis Popovich spoke about this on Radio NV.

“They now want to enter Chasov Yar from the south, from the direction of Ivanovskoye. They have not fully completed the battle for Ivanovskoye, but are accumulating forces to try to enter Chasov Yar from the south. And now they are transferring reinforcements,” the expert said.

Popovich also explained why the Russians became more active in this area.

“I suspect that due to the fact that someone promised someone something – to take Chasov Yar until May 9, they set such a deadline, they are now in a hurry to at least go to this city to report something. This is for them will mean big losses. But, unfortunately, this will also mean losses for us. Therefore, we can state that the battles are starting directly for Chasov Yar,” the observer noted.

The Wall Street Journal noted that Ukrainian troops, which are significantly inferior to Russian ones in numbers and weapons, are trying to hold Chasov Yar long enough to wait for fresh weapons from the United States. The city is strategically important, because if Ukraine loses Chasov Yar, the enemy will gain fire control over Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka.

Deputy commander of the 2nd assault battalion of the 5th separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexei Tarasenko, noted that the Russian invaders have very little chance of success in capturing Chasovoy Yar before May 9 and in general.

Military and political scientist Kirill Sazonov said that the Russian occupiers are destroying and burning Chasov Yar to the ground, but it is felt that they also do not have enough ammunition.
