TsPD and SBU achieved blocking of OUR channel on YouTube War in Ukraine news

According to the head of the CPD Andrey Kovalenko, channels on the territory of Ukraine were blocked through the mediation of Ukrainian special services. At the same time, they “took very different paths” and worked with YouTube management. The presenter of one of the mentioned resources, Max Nazarov, said that he did not know on what basis this happened.

The Center for Countering Disinformation announced the blocking of two propaganda YouTube channels. We are talking about the resources “Higher” and “Yes It Is So”. This was reported in the center’s Telegram channel.

According to the analytical platform VoxUkraine, “Vyshka” became the name of the YouTube platform of the NASH TV channel of the same name after rebranding.

YouTube channel “OUR” is blocked even after the name change

“Yes, the first video was allegedly published in early January 2024, and there are already more than one million subscribers on the channel. In fact, the Vyshka YouTube channel was created back in 2018. But you won’t find old videos,” it says material.

It is reported that the Wayback Machine archive showed that in January 2022 the channel was called “OUR”, but later it was renamed to “Yes, this is yes”, and later it was called “Vyshka”.

“That is, the same channel was renamed twice,” noted the platform’s study.

At the same time, channels are available in other countries, writes Media Detector.

“Old videos of “Vyshki” and “Yes, this is yes” are also found in a YouTube search on the territory of Ukraine,” the publication says.

What TsPD and Kovalenko say

“Once upon a time it was the YouTube channel “Vyshka”, which was blocked by the Center for Action of the National Security and Defense Council. What happened, “Vyshka”?” — wrote the head of the Center for Public Policy Andrey Kovalenko.

According to him, the Center also tried for some time to block the channel with Max Nazarov, and now it has succeeded.

“Special thanks to my colleagues from the SBU for their cooperation on HSEs and Nazarovs,” he added.

“Technically, we did this directly with the Ukrainian special services and took very different paths. And we worked with the YouTube administration, in particular, to block these channels on the territory of Ukraine,” he clarified.

According to him, channels will still remain accessible through VPN, but a number of measures have been taken to ensure that the channel is not available on the territory of Ukraine.

What does HSE and Nazarov say?

“We will look into it, communicate with lawyers. Technically, it is impossible to access the channel, but the videos are available. It also works with VPN. If YouTube were blocked, then it would also be impossible to watch the video with VPN,” explained Max Nazarov in a comment to reporters.

He noted that the channel was blocked by local providers, and not the YouTube platform itself. According to him, he does not know on what basis and what legal decisions the blocking took place.

Administrators of the YouTube channel itself did not comment on the blocking in Ukraine before the news was published.

Let us remind you that the Center for Police spoke about what goals the Russians are pursuing with the help of fakes about the offensive. According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, Russian troops, through provocations, are trying to force the Ukrainian Armed Forces to withdraw reserves from Kupyansk to the Sumy region.

It was also reported that on April 15, the CPD listed accounts on the social network X (Twitter), through which Russian propaganda was disseminated. The list includes 66 channels that Russian propaganda used for disinformation and IPSO. In this way they are trying to shape public opinion in Ukrainian society.
