The men lived in Germany for several years. When problems with employment began, they swam across the river on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Employees of the State Border Service of Ukraine detained two brothers who swam across the Western Bug River to return to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Service.
“Two men were discovered by a border patrol near the Ukrainian-Polish border. It turned out that they were each other’s brothers, and they got from Poland to Ukraine by overflowing the Western Bug River. The violators were wearing wetsuits under their wet clothes,” the report says.

The State Border Guard Service clarified that the men had lived in Germany for several years. However, recently they could not find work, and therefore decided to illegally enter their homeland.
The men carried food supplies and a wire-cutting tool used to get past border fences and other obstacles.
Both citizens of Ukraine were brought to administrative responsibility. The case has been sent to court.
Let us remind you that on April 24, a man tried to swim across the Dniester River on an inflatable mattress. Thus, he sought to illegally cross the state codon of Ukraine and get to Molodova. As reported by the State Border Guard Service, the man had a coordinator who advised him on how to properly use the mattress and where to put his phone and things. The man paid the coordinator 2 thousand euros in advance.
On April 24, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to increase the number of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to 75 thousand military personnel.
According to the explanatory note to the document, the purpose of the law is to form and build up the combat reserves of the State Border Service as part of the Defense Forces and ensure the readiness of the State Border Guard Service in the post-war period to take control of the state border within its internationally recognized borders and to adequately respond with the existing forces and means of the State Border Service to current and potential threats to the national security at the state border.
