NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg before the meeting of ministers of the countries of the Alliance in Oslo reminded that Russia started the war, and Ukraine has the right to defend itself.
Media representatives asked him to comment on the latest episodes of explosions in Russia, in particular, they asked about the drone attack on Moscow, which is associated with Ukraine.
“Our position is the same as it was at the beginning of the war: Ukraine has the right to defend itself. The aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is a gross violation of international law, and the right to self-defense is enshrined in the UN Charter,” he said.
NATO Secretary General added that Western allies will support Ukraine for as long as necessary.
- On the morning of May 30, the Russian capital and the region were attacked by unknown drones. About 30 drones participated in the attack. Most seem to have been shot down in the suburbs.
- Russian media reported that bomb shelters had begun to be built in Moscow. One of them is in the basement of the Kremlin’s main hospital.
