Gerardo Morales: “It cannot be that the logic of joining Juntos por el Cambio is based on what is convenient or not for Patricia Bullrich”

World news

The governor of Jujuy and presidential candidate for the UCR Gerardo Morales spoke this Monday, June 5, with María O’Donnell, by Urbana Play, here are the highlights of that interview:

“We are a week away from the date of presentation of fronts and alliances and we have pending the definition of the incorporation of Espert that the UCR, the Republican Peronism and the Civic Coalition have requested. Hopefully that gets resolved today. Then the proposal for the incorporation of Schiaretti and a sector of Peronism is also under debate, which will surely continue to be debated during the week.

“It cannot be that the logic of incorporating or not other sectors to Together for Change is based on what is convenient or not for Patricia Bullrich.”

“Three months ago we were at a plateau, trapped inside between Bullrich and Larreta, with a loss of initiative. And it seems to us that the best way to strengthen a proposal that will govern the Argentine Republic is by guaranteeing governability on the basis of the expansion of JxC, which is also what the UCR Convention voted for”.

“Together for Change cannot become a sect that also works by virtue of whether it suits this or that candidate.”

“Today there are two positions within Together for Change, the most extreme expressed by Patricia and Mauricio Macri. And on the other side we are leaders that we have to govern and that we have made decisions and there we are the Republican Peronism, the Civic Coalition, a majority sector, I would tell you that 80% of radicalism and a sector of the Pro led by Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, with a coincidence that what the government needs country is to get out of La Grieta, from the extremes”.

“I think there is a majority position in the coalition in terms of ending La Grieta, in terms of rebuilding the dialogue in the Argentine Republic since politics must give concrete answers to the problems of the people and that is not from the fight, but it is trying to bring together all the rational sectors of the Argentine Republic, which are in the divided districts, and also in the sectors of Peronism that make up Miguel Pichetto and Schiaretti, for example ”.

“Patricia cannot appeal the disqualification to win the debate by raising questions about Massa to win the debate, that she does not. Patricia is very arrogant, that she lowers a change, that she does not disqualify to win in the debate of ideas. There is a point to be resolved, to analyze what the incorporation of Schiaretti is, and we must debate it reasonably, sensibly and without appealing to that type of disqualification.
