Šarić says goodbye to the Warriors: My focus is only the national team World news

Everything started like a fairy tale. Dario Šarić (30) had solid minutes in Golden State and very quickly became a fan favorite. A great fighter, as he was throughout his career, he won teammates and fans in Oakland.

Steve Kerr trusted him and was part of his rotation. When it was necessary to rest Draymond Green on the fifth, the Croatian captain entered the game and performed his role brilliantly. He played about twenty minutes per game and his versatility came to the fore. From understanding the game, shooting from outside, assisting the fight in the racket. He had great stats for such minutes, but as the games progressed, his role declined. He fell out of the rotation entirely after the All-Stars, and he doesn’t even know why. His minutes were given to rookie Jackson-Davis and that’s when the Croatian knew his era in Golden State was over. His contract expires at the end of the season, and as the Warriors are bigger dropped out of the playoffs, it’s clear how he said goodbye to the club.

– The beginning of the season was good for me. I played and helped the team. But after the All-Stars it wasn’t perfect anymore, I couldn’t get time on the floor and I wasn’t part of the rotation. At the beginning of the season, I didn’t think it would unravel like this, but that’s how it is in basketball, sometimes doors open and sometimes they close. It’s still a little too early for me to analyze, but there’s no point in getting angry because it won’t change anything – said Šari. at the press conference for the end of the season in which, in 64 games, he averaged eight points, handed out two assists and grabbed four rebounds.

Games of chance can be addictive. 18+.

As someone who has been in the NBA since 2016, Šarić you should have no problem looking for a new employer. However, the question is what kind of minutes will he have in the new club and does it make sense for the 30-year-old to spend the season on the bench and wait for the crumbs in the end of the game, as was the case with the Warriors in the second part of the season… He was would be a huge boost for any Euroleague team, but it is questionable whether Šiši wants to return to Europe. If it comes to such an outcome, it will make Croatian coach Josip Sesar immensely happy, who will thus have a captain at his disposal for the qualifying matches.

Where will Šari be, is a question that will revolve all summer, but for now his first priority is the national team and qualification for the Olympic Games in July. However, it is problematic that one of our best players will be without a serious game for almost half a year.

– I don’t know what will happen. I have a national team this summer, I have to stay ready for it because we have Olympic qualification. After that, I will see what comes next for me at the club level. I will play for the national team as long as I am healthy and until someone younger and better comes along. My focus is only on the national team, to be in a better situation, to help Croatian basketball if it can go further. I have always separated the national team from the clubs. If I am healthy, I will always play for the national team. I don’t see it as a fight for an NBA contract – finished Šarić.
