When night falls, they begin their work – the border guards of the Pomsta Brigade.
The Ukrainian unit operates with a heavy bomb drone – the “Baba Yaga”.
The unmanned aerial vehicle is a separate type of heavy helicopter drone.

With their massive explosive charges, the “Baba Yagas” can also destroy armored vehicles and drop mines.

“She comes with a sizable pile of equipment. A lot of ammunition can be attached to it. High explosives, anti-tank, even thermobaric charges.”
However, to get close to the enemy, the Ukrainians must reach positions across open fields. That can be dangerous.

“The enemy is watching us as we follow him. He is taking countermeasures to locate us, so we must act quickly.”
These photos show what this can look like:
Here, Russian units ram a Ukrainian “Baba Yaga” drone.

The operator approaches the Ukrainian attack helicopter from above and blocks its rotors.

This leads to the destruction and crash of the enemy drone.

Another way for Russian troops to capture the “Baba Yagas” is thermal imaging cameras.

Because the drone is also known as a vampire drone: At night they cannot be seen by the naked eye – only heard.

However, the “Baba Yaga” can be clearly seen from several kilometers away on thermal imaging devices.

According to media reports, Russia is also trying to build its own, equivalent drone.
But at the moment they do not have a counterpart to the “Baba Yagas” of the Ukrainians.
