HDZ PRESIDENT and Technical Prime Minister Andrej Plenković held a press conference after the government session.
At the government session, Plenković assessed that the landing of the first six of the 12 multipurpose Rafale fighter jets in Velika Gorica was a historic event for Croatia’s security, stressing that modern aircraft will protect Croatian skies, land and sea in the next 40 years or so. He called the Rafale purchase one of the most important decisions and projects that have been implemented and reminded that this strategic decision was made at the beginning of the mandate of his first government, eight years ago.
At the same time, negotiations between the HDZ and the Homeland Movement to form a new ruling majority are expected to continue. The minorities declared last night that they will support HDZ and Gordan Jandroković for the head of parliament. The opposition led by the SDP is trying to gather a majority in the parliament to amend several key laws. Most, on the other hand, offered the DP an agreement with the opposition majority, according to which Penava would become the president of the parliament.
