Prague – The mobile network of the operator Vodafone had outages throughout the Czech Republic from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Some customers were without a signal, their calls, texting or mobile internet did not work. The reason for the problems was a power outage in the operator’s data center. Spokesman Ondřej Luštinec told ČTK.

“Voice and data services for all our customers are already working. Some customers may have had problems today, the cause was a power outage in our data center,” said Luštinec.

According to the Downdetector website, the number of reported problems in the Vodafone network increased from zero to around 1,800 this morning. Most of the users complained about the lack of signal and the unavailability of mobile internet.

Service outages affect all operators from time to time. Last April, T-Mobile and O2 had problems with the availability of their services.

Vodafone belongs to the global group of the same name. In the Czech Republic, the operator provides services to more than 4.5 million customers. Roughly four million account for mobile services.
