According to Fyodor Venislavsky, this summer the quantitative effect of the new law on mobilization will not yet be noticeable.

The law on strengthening mobilization in Ukraine will come into force on May 16, but will actually start working in about six months, so the results of its adoption can be summed up at the end of autumn 2024. Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said this in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.

“According to the estimates that were voiced in our committee, in fact, this law can come into effect in about six months – at that time it will already have such an effect. That is, somewhere in the middle – the end of autumn we will already have a fully working law,” – Venislavsky noted.

He clarified that this summer the quantitative effect of the new law on mobilization will not yet be felt.

According to Venislavsky, thanks to the adoption of the law on mobilization, the authorities plan to streamline and simplify the work of military registration and enlistment offices so that people are not caught on the streets.

At the same time, Venislavsky noted that more severe penalties should be established for those who do not update their military registration data or evade conscription.

Let us recall that on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on strengthening mobilization, and already on April 16, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed. At the same time, some provisions of the law will come into force in a month.

In addition, parliament supported the decision to make additional payments for the military “at zero.” According to MP Alexey Goncharenko, 321 politicians voted for additional payments for Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. He believes that such a decision is necessary for motivation and justice for those who defend Ukraine.
