Ramzan Kadyrov said that the arrest of the head of the Chechen Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alikhan Tsakaev, on the border with Dagestan is a “shameful provocation.” He demanded that the Dagestani police officers who stopped the official be fired. According to Kadyrov, the officers at the Gerzel checkpoint tried to arrest Tsakaev in a rude manner without explanation. The head of Chechnya confirmed that Tsakaev did not have a uniform with him; he had a day off.

Kadyrov claims that when the attackers learned that they were dealing with a decorated general, they fled in cowardice. He called for the expulsion from the security forces of those who arrested the Chechen official and appealed to the authorities of Dagestan. He added that such employees are not worthy of wearing a peace officer uniform.

The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, responded to Kadyrov’s threats against Dagestan police. He stated that Tsakaev was stopped not by Dagestani police, but by federal ones. Melikov expressed hope that Kadyrov did not mean the Dagestan police officers when he spoke of a “shameful provocation.”

Let us remind you that Tsakaev was detained for drunk driving in Dagestan, but he was later released. According to telegram channels, Tsakaev refused to stop, turned around and tried to run into the police. He was detained with signs of intoxication and without documents.

Deputy Matveev apologized to Kadyrov: “I meant shaitans and terrorists”
