Pearl Jam Celebrates ‘Dark Matter’ Release With Major World Tour In 2024 Starting In Canada
The Pearl Jam are back today with the release of their 12th studio album, “Dark Matter».
Pearl Jam: It would be nice to release more music
The band recorded their new album, which was originally announced in February, with Andrew Watt producing over a three-week run at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California, and was released today via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records.
The release of the 11-track “Dark Matter” was preceded by the release of the single of the same name, as well as the “Running” and “Wreckage».
In an appearance at podcast “Kyle Meredith With…”, Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard spoke about the band’s experience working with Watt and even hinted that more music will follow in the future.
“I think this record was an empowering experience for everyone,” the guitarist said. “It’s been a bit of a journey, but working with Andrew Watt has made all the difference as he’s a fan as well as a producer. It would be nice to do more».
The Pearl Jam embark on a world tour
The Pearl Jam are celebrating its release “Dark Matter» with a major world tour in 2024. The band will kick off their extensive 2024 tour from Vancouver, Canada on May 4 with several shows in the US (including a headline show at the Bottlerock Festival in Napa Valley, California) before heading to Europe for a short tour. They will return to the US in August to complete their journey.
The “Dark Matter” is Pearl Jam’s first album since “Gigaton» of 2020, while the guitarist Mike McCreedy stated that the album would be “heavier than you’d expect».
