Pub prohibits children and is celebrated by locals for this World news

“I found my new local bar,” writes one user under a photo he posted on the social platform X (formerly Twitter) shares. It shows him smiling next to a no trespassing sign outside the entrance to The Lower Red Lion pub in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Reason for this: Children are not welcome in the pub, but four-legged friends are definitely welcome. As the Daily Mail reports, this decision by the inn is met with divided opinions.

Pubs are “not a place for children”

Some X users condemned the pub’s decision and even compared the ban on children to a “culture of extermination of the human race”. Another user asks: “Why is it now socially acceptable to hate children?”

Locals, however, expressed their support for the ban on children in the pub to the Daily Mail. In the eyes of one local resident, a pub is simply “not a place for children”. However, he has no problem with dogs in the inn because they can be “easily brought under control again” if they cause trouble.

Others emphasize that there are plenty of other restaurants in the town where parents can take their children.

Pub is silent on the discussion

Despite the discussion, The Lower Red Lion Inn has not yet issued a statement on the debate.

In Germany, an inn was recently criticized for its excessive prices after it published its asparagus menu. However, the restaurant responded confidently to the criticism.
