The Kremlin is again trying to influence the West to persuade Ukraine to make concessions and start negotiations on terms favorable to Russia, the American Institute for War Studies (ISW) writes in the latest analysis.

On Friday, the American Wall Street Journal reported that Li Hui had urged European diplomats at recent meetings to agree to a truce that would leave the occupied territory of Ukraine under Russian control. According to the newspaper, Li received a cool reception and a coordinated response from Europeans.
Mykhailo Podolak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on these reports, said that any compromise scenario in the war with Russia would mean the defeat of democracy and the victory of Moscow.
