Ziobro and Morawiecki jostling for cows. ”I propose a debate to the Prime Minister”

World news

– I propose to the Prime Minister a substantive, very serious debate on how to move away from the 2020 obligations imposed by the European Union. We will support him in this. Let’s focus not so much on cows, but on Poles’ wallets, said Zbigniew Ziobro in Bogatynia. The leader of Sovereign Poland thus commented on the words of Mateusz Morawiecki, who in the morning compared the Minister of Justice to a cow.

Since Monday morning, there has been an exchange of views between Zbigniew Ziobro and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. It all started with an interview published in the Do Rzeczy weekly, in which the justice minister argued, among other things, that as a result of the prime minister’s consent to the EU conditionality mechanism and KPO, Poland would gradually lose its sovereignty.

During the Monday press conference in the port of Gdynia, the head of the government was asked about the above statement. – I spent part of my childhood in the countryside, where farmers taught me an old Polish proverb: a cow that moans a lot, gives little milk. Every time I listen to or read the words of the Minister of Justice of this type, I am reminded of the accuracy of this proverb, replied the Prime Minister.

Morawiecki suggested that Zbigniew Ziobro should stop “whining and whining”. – The Minister of Justice has a lot to do – said the head of the government. As he added, “listening to the words of the Minister of Justice, one has the impression that Poland loses its sovereignty five times a year.”

Ziobro: Let’s focus not so much on cows, but on Poles’ wallets

A few hours later, Ziobro decided to answer Morawiecki. During the press conference in Bogatynia, he stated that the EU Fit for 55 package (a package of EU climate regulations as part of the European Green Deal, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Europe – editor’s note) costs almost PLN 2 trillion, which falls on Poles, and that “this is the cost of maintaining almost two budgets of the Polish state for two years” and a very serious matter.

The head of the SP also said that his party is ready to support the prime minister in substantive work to move away from Fit for 55, if Morawiecki shows this substantive way.

– I propose to the Prime Minister a substantive, very serious debate on how to move away from the 2020 obligations imposed by the European Union. We will support him in this. Let’s focus not so much on cows, but on Poles’ wallets, said Zbigniew Ziobro during a press conference.
