The robbers were looking not only for property, but also for documents for a foreign company owned by the deceased son of an elderly woman.
In Transcarpathia, a group of armed, masked intruders broke into the house of a pensioner, tied her up and demanded money.
According to the police of the Transcarpathian region, a robbery attack on a 79-year-old pensioner took place in the village of Kostylevka – several masked people burst into the woman’s house, tied the victim’s hands and feet with tape and threatened her with weapons.
The crime occurred around 4 o’clock in the morning. When the attackers broke into the pensioner’s house, she was sleeping. After the woman was tied up, the armed assailants, threatening to kill her, demanded information from her about the place where she kept all her savings and documents for a foreign company that belonged to her late son. Having not received the necessary information from the victim, the attackers took almost 8.5 thousand dollars, a mobile phone, jewelry from the house and left the pensioner tied up in the house.
The victim managed to free herself and call for help only 8 hours after the attack. Criminal police officers throughout the region immediately began searching for the criminals.
As a result, within a few hours the operatives detained all those involved in the robbery. The detention was carried out in three districts of the region: a 33-year-old defendant from the Rakhiv region was caught in Mukachevo, a 49-year-old resident of the village of Chernogolova – in the Uzhgorod region, a third accomplice from the Uzhgorod region – in the Rakhiv region.
It was established that two of the detainees entered the house, and the third accomplice provided them with all the necessary weapons to commit the crime and drove the vehicle in which the attackers arrived and fled the scene.
Some of the things stolen from the victim, namely a mobile phone, wallets and jewelry, were confiscated from the detainees. A traumatic pistol and more than 40 thousand dollars were also seized from the defendants.
The suspects were placed in a temporary detention center. Investigators charge them with Part 4 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, robbery associated with penetration into housing, aimed at seizing property on a large scale, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, under martial law. Each of those detained for this daring crime faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
