A vote in the US House of Representatives on aid to Ukraine will help keep the world from escalating into war. Thanks to the decision made by the senators of the Republican and Democratic parties, the correct course of history will be preserved. The President of Ukraine thanked the senators for voting. Gratitude from the head of state appeared in a note on the social network X (Twitter).
Zelensky noted that Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson was involved in the senators’ decision; he thanked him personally. The politician emphasized that the United States was able to reaffirm its commitment to the ideals of democracy and freedom. In his opinion, these concepts, as well as peace and security, can be ensured through force. Today’s vote reduced the possibility of the war spreading and saved lives.
“Just peace and security can only be achieved through strength. The vital US relief bill passed today by the House of Representatives will help prevent the spread of war,” the politician wrote.

It should be noted that on April 20, the US House of Representatives considered four bills, including aid packages for Ukraine. In particular, they talked about the frozen assets of the Russian Federation, which Ukraine could receive, and about more than $60 billion that would be used for military support. In the evening (Kyiv time), senators gathered for a meeting and a discussion began, during which they were supposed to reject or support the amendments made.
As a result, voting took place within an hour for both bills related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. The senators were the first to support the document on frozen Russian money, the second – about the $60 billion package. After that, they must go to the Senate, where the next votes will take place. The bills will only go into effect once President Joe Biden signs them.
