President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine delivered tons of grain to Sudan and will continue to help African countries.
“This week, the Grain from Ukraine initiative, our Sudanese partners and the UN World Food Program delivered another shipment of Ukrainian grain to Sudan, which will help 2 million people monthly who face acute hunger and food insecurity,” he wrote. on the X network.
As the president emphasized, Ukraine continues to support the Sudanese people, even when it is defending itself from Russian aggression at home. “This is our guiding principle: we not only seek help from the world, but also help others in the world,” the head of state emphasized.
Zelensky assures that Ukraine, thanks to the Grain from Ukraine initiative, will continue to deliver new cargo to more countries to alleviate the food crisis and help those who need it.
The president also added that food security is an important component of the Ukrainian peace formula, since Ukraine considers it one of the key principles of global stability. “We call on all countries to join the implementation of the Peace Formula and take part in the upcoming Peace Summit in Switzerland,” the president said.
As the head of state emphasized, Ukraine also calls on all countries to condemn Russia’s terrorist attacks on Ukrainian agriculture, port infrastructure and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. According to him, Russian strikes have already damaged or destroyed 215 port infrastructure facilities in the Odessa region.
“Despite these difficult circumstances, Ukraine continues to send cargo, in particular vital food, to countries around the world, including Africa and Asia. Thus, within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine initiative to a number of countries, including Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen and Sudan, critical humanitarian supplies are being delivered,” Zelensky said.
He expressed hope that Ukrainian assistance to the Sudanese people will help bring Sudan closer to stability and sustainable peace.

As UNIAN reported, on November 26, 2022, the implementation of a new international initiative, Grain from Ukraine, began, within the framework of which Ukrainian food is exported to countries in Africa and Asia.
From the very beginning, Ukraine planned to send at least 60 ships from the ports to countries that are suffering the most from the food crisis and need urgent assistance.
