Those Ukrainians who do not have passports will be subject to temporary protection. Poland will not transfer their data, including to Ukraine, the country’s interior minister said.
Poland will not deport Ukrainians with expired documents. The country will continue to temporarily protect Ukrainian refugees. In particular, this applies to those who will not have a passport. This was stated by the head of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Marcin Kierwiński, on TVN24, RMF24 reports.
He recalled that the temporary protection is now valid until June 30, but the Polish authorities are preparing to extend it.
“We will find a way to solve this problem. We need to act wisely and rationally. All things that concern Ukrainians in Poland are spelled out in laws. We will continue protection for Ukrainian refugees, which is currently only valid until June 30. Those who do not have passports will be subject to temporary protection,” Kervinsky said.
He added that the decision will be developed by Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk. He also noted that Poland does not share data on refugees who are in Poland, including with the Ukrainian side.
Let us remind you that on April 25, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh did not rule out that Ukrainians liable for military service could be deported. And Ukrainians of mobilization age will not have their right to stay in the country extended.
In Poland, the rules for providing benefits to Ukrainians may change. According to the innovation, citizens of Ukraine will be required to present a valid passport in order to receive benefits in Poland. According to forecasts, 80% of benefits for Ukrainian refugees may become unavailable.
