War in Ukraine - Dmitry Pletenchuk spoke about Russian intelligence near Crimea - UNIAN War in Ukraine news

The enemy uses mobile platforms in Crimea to bombard Ukraine.

Russia compensates for the lack of cruise missile carriers in the Black Sea by having mobile platforms directly in Crimea. Speaker of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine Dmitry Pletenchuk said this during the telethon.

According to him, this is why the occupiers are forced to conduct reconnaissance.

“They strengthened it quite strongly, namely the air component. Today in the sky you can see, as experts say, a “zoo”, because only 5 drones can be counted – “ZALA”, “SuperCam”, “Orlan-10”, “Mohajer” “Iranian-made, Russian “Outpost,” noted Pletenchuk.

He added that planes are also constantly present in the air – MiGs, Tushki, ANs, Be122s, which are already old and the Russians wanted to write them off.

“That is, they patrol the water area, conduct reconnaissance,” Pletenchuk emphasized.

The speaker noted that there are a large number of enemy UAVs in the sky, which the Defense Forces are constantly destroying. He noted that this is a consumable material for the enemy.

Pletenchuk also recalled that yesterday’s Russian attack on the Odessa region cost the enemy “tens of millions of dollars” and all this was done in order to “hit the storage base of equipment that was already actually out of order.”

At the same time, he added that the enemy is constantly looking for targets to inflict fire damage on.

“They are delivering it from the temporarily occupied Crimea. We hope that this situation will change soon,” Pletenchuk said.

He assured that with the arrival of assistance from the United States to Ukraine, it will be more difficult for the enemy to attack from Crimea.

As UNIAN reported, yesterday, April 24, the Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on Odessa, which allegedly cost the Kremlin $10 million. The attack took place at a storage site for old automobile equipment.

According to the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, the Russian Federation is trying to look for military infrastructure facilities in the rear and has struck places where old equipment was stored, where there were no military personnel and there were no casualties.

What will be included in the US aid package?

As you know, the aid package from the United States, the law granting which to Ukraine was signed yesterday by President Biden, contains ATACMS long-range missiles that can hit military targets in Crimea.

Reuters wrote that these missiles were also included in the $300 million military aid package to Ukraine, which US President Joe Biden approved earlier on March 12.

It is also noted that the United States has been secretly supplying Ukraine with ATACMS missiles in recent weeks to fight Russian invaders. Last week, the Ukrainian army used them for the first time. The missiles were first used on April 17, targeting a Russian airfield in Crimea, which was located approximately 165 km from the Ukrainian front line.
