The day before, forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned that wind gusts of 15-20 m/s were expected in Kyiv in the next hour until the end of the day on April 19. In this regard, weather forecasters declared the first level of danger (yellow).

In addition, experts warned that in the next hour, with a hold until the end of the day on April 19, in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkov regions, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s.

On March 19, weather forecaster Natalya Ptukha reported that the current cold snap should not be considered atypical, since temperatures at the beginning of the month were above normal.

In addition, on April 17, Natalya Ptukha warned of an approaching cold snap, as a result of which at night the air temperature in some places would drop to -7 degrees.
