On the night of April 20, in the Gaysinsky district of the Vinnytsia region, unknown persons shot policemen.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, at about 2 a.m., police stopped an unknown dark-colored car to check.

“There were two men in the car. They opened fire on the police. A 20-year-old policeman died from his injuries and his partner was wounded,” the police said.

A police operation has been introduced in the Vinnitsa and Odessa regions. Thanks to the efforts of the operational services, it was possible to identify persons likely involved in the crime. The orientation has been sent to all regional units of the National Police.

The national police also showed photos from the shooting scene. Measures are being taken to locate and apprehend those involved in the murder.

Meanwhile, a number of Ukrainian Telegram channels published videos of possible suspects. They “lit up” at one of the gas stations near the crime scene. The footage shows that the driver was wearing military uniform. His passenger is wearing black overalls, which are worn by some law enforcement agencies. The police have not yet commented on the occupation of the suspects.

As UNIAN reported, Ukrainians may now have from one million to five million captured weapons in their hands.

“From a million to five million units of captured weapons may now be in the hands of Ukrainians. After the war there will be 2-3 million, I think, at least units of firearms. And I want to say that these are not short-barreled weapons. These are automatic weapons, these are grenades, these are mines and more serious weapons that are in the hands of our citizens, and will still be in the hands of our citizens,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klimenko.

On March 20, the Rada at a plenary meeting supported a bill amending the law “On ensuring the participation of civilians in the defense of Ukraine” regarding improving the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms (No. 9538).
