Klimenko reacted to the shooting of police officers near Vinnitsa - UNIAN War in Ukraine news


The minister noted that those responsible will be punished “to the fullest extent of the law.”

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko reacted to the shooting of police officers in the Gaysinsky district of the Vinnytsia region.

Klimenko’s reaction appeared on his Telegram channel. He said that there is no justification for this crime, and the perpetrators will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

“It doesn’t matter who and in what clothes… In what condition and for what reason. There is no justification for this crime and there cannot be. The shooters must be found and detained. They must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the Law,” Klimenko noted, indirectly confirming, that the suspects may be involved in military service.

The minister expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased policeman and added that “there is no rear for the police.”

As UNIAN reported, on the night of April 20, in the Gaysinsky district of the Vinnytsia region, unknown persons shot policemen.

At about 2 a.m., police stopped an unknown dark-colored car to check. There were two men in the car. They opened fire on the police. A 20-year-old policeman died from his injuries and his partner was wounded.

Meanwhile, a number of Ukrainian Telegram channels published videos of possible suspects. They “lit up” at one of the gas stations near the crime scene. The footage shows that the driver was wearing military uniform. His passenger is wearing black overalls, which are worn by some law enforcement agencies. The police have not yet commented on the occupation of the suspects.
