Ramallah – the world of the homeland
The US authorities announced today, Monday, that no survivors were found at the crash site of the Cessina plane, which violated the airspace of the capital on Sunday, prompting military fighters to try to intercept it, before it crashed in Virginia.

Virginia State Police said, “First responders arrived at the site Sunday evening, about four hours after state and local authorities began a ground and air search for the crashed plane,” noting that it had stopped the search and would identify the plane’s passengers when information became available.

According to US officials, the US F-16 fighter jets caused a sonic boom as they flew at supersonic speeds across the Washington, D.C., area on Sunday as they sought to reach the unresponsive aircraft.

A US official said that “the F-16s did not shoot down the aircraft and it is typical for the FAA to recall aircraft if someone is flying unsafely.”

According to a statement issued by the North American Aerospace Defense Command in the United States, the pilot of the civilian aircraft did not respond, as the F-16 fighter jets attempted to make contact.

The statement added that the F-16s used the warning lights “in an attempt to attract the pilot’s attention”.

It eventually crashed near the George Washington National Forest in Virginia, while US media reported that four people were on board the plane, which had exceeded its scheduled destination by about 315 miles before the crash.
