We fought from the first to the last minute, and in return we have to be even better, said Zagreb handball player Miloš Kos after 27-27 against Montpellier in the first match of the EHF Champions League quarterfinals.
The guests from France were in charge for a large part of the match, but Zagreb managed to reach a draw and still rightly hopes to advance to the quarterfinals, where Kiel awaits.
– We played defense very well throughout the entire game, regardless of the fact that we conceded some easy goals in the first half. In attack, we made numerous mistakes at the beginning and we have to fix that. We fought back throughout the entire match and we will have to do better in return. In the end, we pulled off that draw well. We’ve been playing really well in the Champions League all season and a breakthrough to the čquarterfinals would be a real reward for all that. We have something to hope for in Montpellier – concluded Miloš Kos, scorer of five goals for Zagreb.
Croatian handball player Veron Nainovi scored one goal in the away team.
“Difficult match in a very nice atmosphere. The fans carried Zagreb throughout the entire match and it was not easy for us. We have a new interesting encounter in return. We hope, of course, that they pass, but we have to analyze this first meeting and see how to fix the situations in the game that were not good”, Načinović said after the match.
